Book: The Immortals of Meluha

Book Description:

This is the first book of the Shiva Trilogy. The story has been set in the land of Meluha and starts with the arrival of the Shiva. The Meluhan people believed that Shiva is their fabled savior Neelkantha. Shiva decides to help the Meluhans in their war against the Chandravanshis, who had joined forces with a cursed Nagas; however, during his journey and the fight that ensues, Shiva learns how his choices actually reflect who he aspires to be and how they lead to dire consequences.

This book, when it was first published became very controversial for Amish Tripathi’s modern approach about the Hindu gods and goddesses. After this book has been published Amit was not getting any publisher to publish his next book of the series.

A new brave world has been introduced in the story. Here all gods and goddesses are mortals. It is for their sacrifice and the great did that make them icons to the society living at that time and eventually people followed them by the names of gods and goddesses that still we believe in today and worship.
